A working career before the construction enterprise

A. K. Nathan’s speaker biography traces his early employment to operating printing machinery. It then describes the development of a structural-steel erection business in Malaysia. Eversendai dates its history to 1984. The inspected records do not securely establish his birth date or detailed early education, so neither is reconstructed from an undated age or an honorific.

The enterprise began with a specialist construction activity: erecting structural steel. Its later development required a broader organisation able to plan work, procure material, prepare components and coordinate installation. Nathan’s documented contribution was to build that organisation and its business relationships, rather than to personally perform every engineering calculation or construction operation.

Malaysian commissions lead into an international business

The company chronology records a structural-steel contract for Petronas Tower 2 in 1994 and work at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in 1995. It then dates the Burj Al Arab structural-steel erection contract in Dubai to 1996. These are specific project packages, not claims that Eversendai was the sole architect or constructor of each entire development.

The chronology also records a full engineering department in 1997. That milestone indicates an effort to extend the company’s role beyond site erection alone. Different contracts subsequently used different combinations of design, fabrication, supply and installation. Reading the scope attached to each project is more informative than treating every appearance of a famous building’s name as an identical contract.

Fabrication capacity and project coordination

Eversendai’s development included fabrication facilities. Its selected milestones record acquisition of a Dubai plant in 2003, another facility in Sharjah in 2004 and construction of a Doha plant in 2006. The expansion placed workshop and manufacturing capability alongside international site work. Such a business depends on managers, engineers, fabricators, logistics and erection crews cooperating across locations.

Burj Khalifa supplies a concrete example. Eversendai’s chronology records a 2007 award for structural-steel erection of the spire. Tata Steel’s separate project case identifies Eversendai Engineering as steel subcontractor and fabricator, alongside named architects, consulting engineers and main contractors. These records establish a meaningful specialist contribution while retaining the work of the wider project team. They do not transfer sole authorship of the tower to Nathan.

A public company and a continuing organisation

Nathan’s founder biography dates his board appointment to 12 August 2004. The corporate chronology records Eversendai Corporation’s listing in 2011. His speaker and issuer biographies also list recognition in 2008 and a construction-leadership award in 2015. These are dated elements of a long business career, while the promotional descriptions accompanying them remain the publishers’ assessments.

Different company pages give inconsistent workforce totals, and the speaker sheet includes older capacity and valuation figures. None is used here as a verified October 2026 measure or as personal wealth. The career can instead be followed through its documented stages: specialist erection work, Malaysian landmark packages, regional contracts, engineering and fabrication development, and public-company organisation. Those stages explain the business contribution without erasing collaborators or inflating the scope of any one project.
