Accuracy before volume

Every biography should make clear what is known, when it was true and where the information came from.

Source hierarchy

We prioritise official records, legislation, election results, regulatory filings, annual reports, sporting federations, archival material and reputable published scholarship. A person’s own website may document their position, but it is not treated as independent verification.

Living people and politics

Current offices are dated. Political profiles distinguish documented fact from interpretation, attribute disputed claims, and clearly separate allegations, charges, convictions and acquittals. We do not publish rumours or unsupported wealth estimates.

Research methodology

A profile begins with a chronology: identity, dates, offices and achievements come before interpretation. Our research process follows five steps.

1. Select a documented subject. Look for influence in politics, business, sport or culture and enough reliable public evidence for a useful biography. Inclusion is not endorsement.
2. Build the source record. Start with the primary records listed above, then use reputable scholarship and independent reporting for context and scrutiny.
3. Check important claims. Compare names, dates, offices, results and milestones across sources where practical. Explain conflicting evidence, narrow the claim or omit an unsupported detail. Date facts that may change.
4. Review the page. Check the chronology against the prose, distinguish fact from interpretation, verify links and document image rights. Living people and political subjects require particular care with attribution and legal status.
5. Maintain the record. Update the affected page when its substance changes. A design or formatting change should not make every biography appear newly reviewed. Material factual corrections follow the policy below.

Editorial responsibility

Images and quotations

Images require a documented licence or permission and follow our image licensing policy. Quotations must be traceable to a speech, interview, publication or archival record.

Corrections

A material factual correction should identify the affected page, the original statement, the corrected information, the correction date and its supporting source. Routine spelling and formatting changes do not require a correction notice.

A useful correction report includes the page address, the specific statement in question, the proposed correction and a reliable source. A dedicated public reporting address has not yet been published; this website currently has no correction-submission form.
