A family business built around local services
Musa Adnin’s business career developed alongside his father, Haji Adnin, whose early activities included a paint distributorship and contracting. Musa returned to Brunei after studying in Singapore. Together they participated in a government and Brunei Shell Petroleum programme intended to develop local businesses supplying the country’s petroleum industry.
Their initial work included maintaining BSP housing, from repairs to gas supplies. Adinin Works & Engineering later undertook engineering, procurement and construction projects. Biz Brunei’s family profile describes Musa’s role in expansion and places his succession as group managing director in the mid-1990s, when his father became chairman.

Engineering and a diversified commercial portfolio
Adinin’s development extended beyond a single contractor. The ASEAN Business Advisory Council’s 2021 profile described a family-owned group operating in Brunei, other ASEAN markets, East Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Its energy-services capabilities covered engineering solutions for oil, gas, petrochemicals and power, alongside work involving water and utilities.
The profile also described Musa’s business interests in manufacturing, information technology, logistics, travel, training, marine chartering and property. Educated in Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia, he continued taking courses and attending seminars on management, technology, health, safety and the environment. His career consequently combines industrial contracting with a broader range of commercial services.

Regional recognition and business representation
In September 2017, Musa received the ASEAN Business Awards Legacy Award for Brunei. The award programme recognised established business leaders’ contributions to their national economies and the region. Go Negosyo’s account identified him through Adinin’s diversified activities, placing the family’s business development within a wider Southeast Asian commercial setting.
He subsequently chaired the ASEAN Business Awards held during Brunei’s 2021 ASEAN chairmanship, encouraging participation by promising smaller enterprises. His public roles also included honorary consular service: Brunei’s 2021 diplomatic directory lists Musa bin Haji Adinin as Mexico’s honorary consul in Kuala Belait, with an appointment date in May 2000.
Sustainability discussions and aviation in 2026
The organiser of Brunei’s Sustainable Economy Forum on 5 May 2026 identified Musa as ASEAN Business Advisory Council Brunei chair and Adinin managing director. Its programme brought government, industry and finance representatives together to discuss green investment and economic diversification, connecting his representative role with questions facing businesses beyond their existing operations.
In August 2026, Adinin entered another specialised sector through Adinin Visi Aerotec in Indonesia. A Borneo Bulletin report republished by Brudirect records the venture’s opening on 18 August and its focus on aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul. The company intended to develop training opportunities and eventually bring the expertise gained overseas back to Brunei.

Full family-business profile read. It centres on father Haji Adnin and explicitly distinguishes him from son Musa.
