The company’s chronology describes work in his elder brother Gabriel’s business and an apprenticeship in motorcycle spare parts. It dates his independent trading venture to 1981 and Innoson Nigeria Limited’s incorporation to 1982.
From imported parts to assembly
The same account describes seeking suppliers in Asia in 1984 and importing Jingcheng motorcycles from China in 1987. It dates a Nnewi motorcycle assembly plant to 1995. This moved the business beyond selling individual spare parts into assembling complete machines.
